Summer Reading

Just the header of this post makes me smile. Because it means the kids are almost done with school, my holiday is almost here and I have a lot of READING in my future!!! Squeeeee!

Two weeks from today (the stars and planets hopefully aligning!), I'll be in the US of A, Florida to be exact. Not having had a holiday in a looooong while, I've been looking forward to this one so much, I'm surprised I haven't spontaneously combusted!

And while I love all the lovely things one gets to do on holiday, my number one favourite thing is reading (even better if the pesky kids are occupied elsewhere). Before Kindle/iPad, I always packed five or six books because the thought of being bookless filled me with horror.

But now I've got my shiny new iPad, the possibilities are of course, endless, but at the top of my TBR list for this summer are:

Nalini Singh's Branded By Fire #5 in the Psy/Changeling Series

Nalini's books are my favourite treat to myself once I finish a project and I know this one promises to be just as brilliant as the previous four have been!

Anna's one of my favourite historical writers and I can't wait to read this one.

Lynn Raye Harris's Captive But Forbidden. I've heard wonderful things about this book, and Lynn never fails to deliver.

I've had Cari Quinn's No Dress Required in my kindle for a while just waiting for the right moment. I reckon it'll be devoured in one sitting!

And just for the heck of it and because I LOVED this book so much, I'm going to do something I RARELY do – re-read Sylvia Day's Bared To You. This book is hands down AWESOME!!

For my sixth book, I'd love a recommendation from my lovely blog friends, so please do feel free to share what your summer reading :)

  1. I'm so jealous, hope you have a lovely time. With the kids off I will have even less time to read, but last holiday abroad I read 'We Need To Talk About Kevin' by Lionel Shriver. I couldnt put it down and was gobsmacked for days after finishing. I hugely recommend it, but it isn't particularly light reading, so depends what you like!

    Have fun! :0)

  2. Thanks, Charlotte!

Gosh yes, WNTTAK is on my TBR list but, I agree, it's not light summer reading. I've heard it's a great read though, so thanks for the endorsement!

  4. I am, Sutton!! Kids can barely contain themselves, and I'm not far behind, lol!

Doesn't Bared To You just stay with you? Even now, weeks after reading it, I still think about those two. Seriously incredible writing. Can't wait for Reflected In You (Sylvia tweeted today that the title's changed). Kinda liked Deeper tho, lol...
