Diving Back In

After a week where the mehs far outweighed the yayyys, I'm happy to report I'm ready to dive back into writing waters. I actually tested the waters a little last night and started a completely new story outside of my comfort zone. We'll see how that goes, but in the meantime, here's a checklist of things that MUST be done pretty darn sharpish, if my self-imposed dreadlines are to be met:

1. Polish and send requested partial to editor.
2. Revise and resend full to other editor.
3. Finish short story and sub to yet another editor.
4. Carry on working on brand new out-of-comfort-zone idea.
5. Get published with one of the above ideas??? That would be nice, wouldn't it?

So what about you? Are you waiting, writing, wailing, biting your nails while doing all the above? Dish...

  1. Hi Maya, my list is looking a lot like yours:
    1. Do kick ass synopsis, then send synopsis and partial to M&B
    2. Revise already written story for interested publisher, then send entire.
    3. Write story which has been approved 'in theory' and submit to yet another publisher.
    4. Party my socks off for Catch Me A Catch release.
    phew...

  2. You must also dish on the out of your comfort zone project. How so, exactly? Do not keep secrets Minx Maya. We know where you live!! Well, actually, we don't, but I've always wanted to say that to someone.

Hmm, anyway, back to the list. Revise requested partial, make it shiny and nice and then send it (my first proper sub, no less!). Next up would be to write at least partial of shiny new idea for the upcoming M&B comp where I intend to bare my writing for the (gulp) reading public.

That's it for the next couple of months!

  3. Yay for you you, Maya! I should be setting myself some goals because at the moment, I ain't got none. Too busy whining about waiting - STILL!
Anyway, what I should do is actually finish another MH project rather than starting another one! :-)
And if I finish one, maybe start something completely different...

  4. Well Sally, with your super dupper fast writing and general awesome-ness, you'll be done with 1,2 and 3 in no time. Then we can get down to the serious business of No. 4!

  6. Thanks, Jackie. And the waiting really is pants, isn't it??? Keeping everything crossed that you hear soon. On the writing front, I REALLY think you should tackle something else, if only to take your mind of what's happening in MH world! You can do it, Jax, just go for it!

  11. You are awesome with your list and ability to organize! And I can't wait to hear more about this out-of-comfortzone project :)

Me? Definitely been meh-ish this past bit, but feel it's time to get living and writing again. So, here I go! My list:

    1. Take each day 1 step at a time.
    2. Insist on atleast an hour for writing each day.
    3. Invent some diet chocolate and nom, nom, nom.

  12. Oooh, that's a good idea. I should copy you and write a to-do list.

    Good luck with your list.
