I'm A Twihard!!

So a few weeks ago I saw Twilight. Since then, I’ve seen it er...a few more times. I’ve talked about it on a few boards, with my cps and spent an inordinate amount of times on the internet reading about the whole series. Oh yes, I'm also counting the days until New Moon comes out. Even my husband been cajoled into watching it.

See a pattern emerging here?

Yep, it's time to finally admit, I'm Maya and I'm a Twihard. The emotional intensity between Edward and Bella speaks to me a writer and is something I yearn to capture between the pages of my own ms. But aside from that, I was happy to watch a vampire movie without a fang in sight!

I know Ms Meyer has received some stick with regard to the rest of her books not quite living up to the first, but not having read any of them, I can’t comment.

All I can say is, Twilight has risen right up there amongst my top ten must see movies of the last few years and I have a weird feeling, I'll be watching it a few more times before the year's out!

What movies are you addicted to, that you'd watch over and over and over?

  1. I watched Twilight before reading the book, then watched it again after reading the book, then watched it again, and again, and again, and now I need to call my friend who I loaned my copy to so I can get it back and...well, you get the picture, LOL...I'm a Twihard too :) As for other movies I've watched over and over, hummm, Star Wars (the original) for sure, but also Ever After, and I can't forget...Galaxy Quest. Makes me giggle every time.

  2. The books are awesome. All of them. I am such a nerd over them. And I vowed NEVER to read them. In fact, I have them in my recommended reads on my blog and I even had to publicly confess I was ready to hate them. Vampires? Not my thing. Teen angst? Oh spare me! And yet...read them all in five days. Then I read them out loud to my hubby.

  3. Hello, Fellow Twihards! It's good to be in such great company. Now I won't feel like such a freak ;) So, you two think I can get away with saying how much I loved the new Star Trek with Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine? Wooowwweeee, totally awesome! As a Brit, Simon Pegg also did me proud. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day.

  4. I'm not a Twihard (love that word!) but I love the movie Love Actually. I watch it all the time and it never gets old :)

  5. I'm not a Twihard, but will admit that I enjoyed the first book of the series. The movie I can watch over and over again and still laugh is Pillow Talk with Rock Hudson and Doris Day. My daughter who is a Twihard (great word by the way) also loves Pillow Talk.

  6. Hey there, Katie, thanks for stopping by. I like Love Actually. Thought the scene at Juliet's door with Mark and his silent love confession was incredibly poignant!

  7. I've never seen Pillow Talk, Karen. Will be sure to hunt it down now. I adore Rock Hudson. Thanks for the tip (I'm always on the hunt for "keepers") and for stopping by.

  8. Hi, Maya -- :-) ::stands in front of chair and declares:: "I'm Marianne, and I'm a Twihard." I loved the movie (attended the midnight showing, and already have my midnight showing tickets for New Moon). I have to say though, if you haven't read the books yet, PLEASE - don't walk, RUN to the book store and get them. As with all things literary, people love, and people hate, but IMVHO, Stephenie Meyer is pure genius. She makes the fantastic seem completely relatable and I am in awe of her work with this series. Give them a go, Maya! And thanks for a great blog. :-)

  9. Marianne, welcome, welcome to the Twihard fellowship! The only reason I haven't read the books is this: I don't have time for a new addiction. Simple :) I've tried over the years to break some pretty serious time consuming addictions, like oh, Star Trek (all series since the Capt Kirk), all the Stargates, Friends, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Lost...and on, and on, and on. Now if I have any hope in hell of sustaining a publishing career in any shape or form, I cannot afford another addiction. Now Twilight (the movie) is already right "up there"! So I'm doing my best to resist this one. For now. I have a feeling it won't be a very long battle. :) Thanks so much for stopping by, and for following me. Have a great weekend and if the clocks are going back where you are, enjoy the extra hour!

  10. Haven't stuck my toes in the Twilight pond yet. Movies I can watch again and again... Notting Hill, 10 Things I Hate About You, Pretty Woman, The Wedding Singer, Pure Country, 50 First Dates, Runaway Bride... got a little romantic comedy fetish going on.
